Allena

Push-Up Standards

Allena places every new player with a 30-second camera-judged push-up test — the result is your Career Level. The 30-second test places you from Level 1 to Level 7, the start of a ladder that runs to 15. These are the actual placement bands the app uses; reps only count at full depth.

Push-up test chart

Read your count straight off the chart. A rep only lands here if the camera saw full depth — chest to a fist off the floor.

Push-up standards by age

Allena's bands do not adjust for age. A 19-year-old and a 52-year-old who both post 22 verified reps in 30 seconds place at Level 5. The test scores the set you just did, not the year you were born.

That cuts both ways, and it is the point: the chart above is a fixed yardstick. Take the same 30 seconds under the same depth rule every few weeks and the number itself tells you which direction you are going.

How many push-ups in 30 seconds is a good score?

Under 8: Levels 1-2. Only full-depth reps count here — chest to a fist off the floor, or it doesn't score. The honest count, not the gym-class count.

15-29: Levels 4-5. Full-depth reps held at pace — a strong entry placement.

30+: Level 6 and up. 40 verified reps in 30 seconds is Level 7, the highest the entry test awards. Past that you climb by playing — games, daily challenges, and personal bests all add Career XP, up to Level 15.

FAQ

How many push-ups in 30 seconds is average?

Allena doesn't publish a population average — it places you against fixed bands. 8-21 full-depth push-ups in 30 seconds covers the Level 3 to Level 4 range. Fifteen clean reps is a respectable first placement.

Do push-up standards change with age?

Not in Allena. The bands are fixed, so the same verified rep count places a 19-year-old and a 52-year-old at the same Level, and depth is judged the same way for everyone. The chart is a yardstick, not a handicap.

What counts as one push-up?

Chest lowered until it's about a fist's height off the floor, body in one line, then pressed back to locked arms. Allena's camera counts reps at full depth only — half reps don't score.

Is 40 push-ups in 30 seconds good?

Yes. Forty verified reps in 30 seconds hits the entry test's placement cap — Level 7, the highest the 30-second test can award. Climbing higher happens by playing: games, daily challenges, and personal bests add Career XP all the way to Level 15.
