How to do it

Set up

  1. Adjust the seat so the hips and back stay against the pad.
  2. Place both feet evenly on the platform and release the safety stops.

Do the rep

  1. Lower the platform by bending the hips and knees under control.
  2. Press through both feet until the legs return to the start position.

What counts as a rep

A rep counts when the knees reach about 90 degrees with the lower back on the pad and the legs extend without locking hard.

One rep lowers until the knees reach about 90 degrees while the lower back stays on the pad, then ends with the legs extended without locking hard.

Breathing

Breathe in as the platform lowers; exhale as you press it away.

Cues

  • Keep the back on the pad.
  • Track knees with toes.
  • Press through the whole foot.

Common mistakes

  • Hips lift from the pad

What you seeThe pelvis rolls away from the seat at the bottom.

FixUse a shorter depth that keeps the hips supported.

A supported pelvis keeps the chosen depth stable under load.

  • Knees collapse inward

What you seeThe knees move inside the line of the feet.

FixKeep the knees tracking with the toes.

Knees tracking with the feet keeps the press aligned.

Stop the set if

  • Stop if you feel sharp pain.
  • Stop if the pelvis lifts or you cannot reach the safety stops securely.
  • End the set when you cannot meet the stated range under control.
